Arizona Family Ranches
Farm Vacation in Nevada? Arizona? Wyoming? Colorado? Nebraska? South Dakota?
I will be vacationing with my family in late September/ early October. We will be driving from San Diego, CA. to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore. On the way, I’d like to stay at a Farm or Ranch for a few days. I have a wife and two kids (6 and 7). I have researched ranches, but they seem to do a lot of horse riding and cattle steering. My kids are too young for that. I would like a place where my kids can feed the hogs, collect the chicken eggs, milk a cow, work with hay, etc. I’m thinking something like that movie, Charlotte’s Web”.
Any ideas??????
Thank you.
There is a Living History Farm you might be able to look up on the internet near York, Nebraska. Otherwise another term for farm vacation is agritourism and you might use that term when you do searches for it. I’m not sure about the other states but look up Nebraska’s travel website and search around for “places to go”.
You might consider the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha as well. There is a little bit of a farm exhibit there where kids can feed goats and some animals but the zoo itself is just about world class (jungle, desert, many other exhibits) and a great place to stop.
