What type of houses is in a small village in County Mayo?

Meaning, what style – ranch, colonial, etc, etc. What material – brick, vinyl, wood tables, etc. How many stories, how big is a yard, what is in it and, in general, what are they (the house and garden) as? And if someone has a house in Co Mayo and would be willing to share a picture of her with me (I'm writing a novel and want exact description), I would be very grateful!

Okay, I thought you were writing a book or something from your last post! If I were I think you May a new town of some in this very comprehensive website: http://www.mayo-ireland.ie / (loads of photos included) As for what type of houses are there, depends on whether the person is rich or poor, how long they have lived in the area, what your job is, how many children and whether or not the story unfolds days in modern Ireland. Most people do not live in the old style of building stone houses that dot the landscape. Most of these have collapsed oo has been restored and are rented as holiday homes. It will look like: http://www.teachphilbin.com/ and usually set to about 1 / 2 to 1 acre of land, much less if are actually within the village. Wealthier families had houses of culture like this (perhaps a bit smaller) with http://www.seamountfarm.com/ haybarns and sheds and things that form a sort of informal patio in back. The amount of land will depend on the wealth of the family, but from 20 to 250 acres would be the norm. These may be dark inside with small windows and low ceilings. They can be cold and wet and the main rooms are heated by an open fire – but most have been upgraded by now. Most families built new houses in a nearby piece of land. From the 60s to today, these were mostly modern 3 or 4 one-bedroom bungalows as this: The 2-http://www.breezemountbb.com/ grand 80-story version is more like: most http://www.mayo-ireland.ie/Mayo/Towns/CasBar/Windermere.htm of the houses are built with concrete blocks built in a ceiling tile or scheduled, and not enough insulation. Central heating is often provided by the coal burning on the lawn or a range (of Stanley or an Aga), although oil and alternative energy supplies are becoming more common. More modern houses can be half-timbered, but again, most are at least covered with blocks to withstand wet weather. Thatch is now a rarity.
