does the my pokemon ranch updates do anything good or helpful for your diamond and pearl game?

I know once you put in a certain amount of pokemon in your ranch, you get updates. BUT do the updates or anything in this game do anything to help you with diamond and pearl?? Such as legendary pokemon you cant obtain normally? please help me out

From what I heard, I don’t think so. However, I had heard you can get Mew if you transfer a certain amount (which is a lot) of Pokemon. I’m not sure about it though.
